Yemen Is Starving

It has been over 8 years since the war in Yemen started, and Yemen is still one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises today.

Unfortunately, rising food costs have made the hunger problem even worse. To date:

❌ 17 million Yemenis require food assistance.

❌1 out of 3 families require lifesaving food assistance to survive.

❌ 2.2 million children under the age of 5 are starving.

This means that the people of Yemen are forced to starve ALL year round!

Even Though We’re Halfway Across The World, We Can Save Them

Imagine you’re watching videos on your phone and you see a sad video of a hungry child halfway across the world in Yemen.

You wish you could jump into the screen and give them some food.

You feel really sad because you’re so far away and don’t know how to help.

But guess what? You can still make a big difference!

Even though they’re far away, you can still help them feel just a little happier and not be hungry anymore.

And we don’t have to just drop off food baskets which some families and children can’t make use of without fuel, utensils, and knowing how to cook.

Instead, we can…

The great news is, we already have 4 fully functioning bakeries in different parts of Yemen: Sana’a, Dhamar, Rada’a, and Al Musallah.

Every day, these bakeries make more than 24,000 pieces of warm, ready-to-eat bread.

You can help us continue to do so and distribute enough bread to satisfy every hungry person in Yemen!

How It Works

It only costs 3.7 CENTS to make 1 piece of bread (100% of your donation is used to provide the bread)

Our FREE volunteers in Yemen prepare the bread

Each Yemeni receives a FREE voucher every day to exchange for 20 pieces of bread (for their whole family)

Our volunteers collect the bread voucher in exchange for 20 pieces of FREE bread

Why Bread?

Here are 8 reasons why giving fresh, ready-to-eat bread is a great way to help people who are hungry in Yemen.

Easy to Distribute: Bread is simple to hand out. It doesn’t need special packaging or handling, making it quick to get to those who need it most.

Nutritious: Bread can be packed with nutrients like fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It’s good food to help people get stronger.

No Cooking Needed: Many people don’t have a safe place to cook. Bread is ready to eat, so it’s easy for families to have a meal without needing a kitchen.

Long Shelf-Life: Bread, especially certain types, can last for a while without going bad. This means it can be stored and used when needed.

Culturally Accepted: Bread is a staple food in Yemen. People are familiar with it, and it fits well into their daily lives.

Cost-Effective: Making bread can be less expensive than other foods. This means we can make more of it and feed more people.

Filling: Bread is filling and can help people feel full for a longer time. This is important when food is scarce.

Comforting: There’s something comforting about warm bread. It not only feeds the body but also lifts the spirit.

We Can’t Afford To Delay

Your generosity today will help free families from hunger so they can dedicate their time and energy to secure a brighter future for themselves.

With 2.2 million children on the brink of starvation, your support today very well could be the difference between life and death for them.

And if that’s not bad enough:

❗️Yemen Is Expected To Receive Only 50% Of Required Humanitarian Funding This Year

Considering that 80% of the country is relying on humanitarian aid, many people won’t get the help they need. This means more people will go hungry and get sick.

❗️Yemeni Currency Has Lost Its Value By 28%

Money in Yemen is worth less now. This means food and medicine cost a lot more. People need help right away to buy what they need and no longer can afford it.

❗️2.2 Million Children Are On The Brink Of Starvation

Lots of children are very, very hungry and need food now. If we don’t help them fast, they could get really sick, or worse.

ABOUT GOOD DEED CHARITY

Good Deed Charity was co-founded by Dr Mohammed Alazani, father of 6, and a distinguished cardiovascular surgeon in Germany. Dr. Mohammed is originally from Yemen, and he took it upon himself to help the people of his country.

At first alone, then with a group of his medical colleagues. In 2019, he realized he could do much more with a registered charity and local office in Yemen and established Good Deed Charity.

By funding the administrative costs associated with running a charity through his own pockets and with the help of his colleagues, Good Deed Charity has remained a 100% Donation Policy charity, putting 100% of your donations to work on the ground.

Today, Good Deed Charity is one of only 2 charities in Europe that has a registered office in Yemen.

For this reason, we have a dedicated delivery team that knows how to navigate the country in order to facilitate local relief operations in Yemen on behalf of other big charities such as:
We are also registered as a nonprofit organization in the United Kingdom (tax-deductible) exclusively focused on supporting the needy in Yemen.

Having a local office in Yemen allows us to provide our supporters with full transparency through videos and photos highlighting the direct impact of your donations on an on-going basis. At the same time, none of your donations are being redirected towards middlemen to provide any services.

Our Partners

The problem in Yemen is devastating – and we know that the only way we’ll be able to efficiently and effectively deliver the help they need is through working with a series of partners. And not just any partners – but the best of the best. Our partners have been on the ground in Yemen for several years and understand the problem first-hand.

We have worked with Charity Right, Mercy Bakery, Pious Projects, Crisis Aid, Heroic Hearts, Slough Islamic Trust, and Imdad Relief Foundation to provide life-saving aid to the people in Yemen.
