WE’VE DONE IT BEFORE – HELP US DO IT ONCE AGAIN THIS YEAR!

Last Ramadan, we had a goal to provide 1,000,000 Iftar meals to the people of Yemen.

But, we exceeded that goal and were able to provide 1,000,500 Iftar meals instead! All with the grace of Allah and the help of generous donors like yourself!

This year–once again, our goal is to provide 1 Million Iftar Meals to the people of Yemen. But we need your help to achieve this milestone and save, sustain, and nourish a million lives (or more) in Yemen this Ramadan.

HUNGER—AN UNWELCOME COMPANION

Every year, in Ramadan, after a long day of fasting, we look forward to gathering around the iftar spread with our families.

But what if there was no spread to gather around?

What if our only choice was to continue to fast even after sunset?

We can only imagine the lingering pain of hunger and the agony of starvation…

But the people of Yemen go through it every single day.

Did you know that more than half the population of Yemen is food insecure?

Today:

⭕ More than 17 million Yemenis skip meals everyday because they have no other choice.

⭕ More than 6 million are on the brink of famine.

⭕ 2.2 million children under 5 require treatment for acute malnutrition.

Yemen had already been facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises since 2011.But in the aftermath of Yemen’s solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Palestine, the country’s situation has only worsened.

Now, children in Yemen are battling three constant threats all over again: bombs, starvation, and disease. There is nowhere that’s safe for them. Their schools have become war zones, and their playgrounds have turned into graveyards.

They had no part in creating this crisis, yet they continue to pay for it with their own lives?

Don’t these children, and their innocent families, deserve better?

We cannot put a stop to the looming conflict, but we can help soften its impact. Let’s ease their struggles and alleviate their hunger by sharing an iftar for as little as $2.

Meet Adam.

He lives in the camps in Dhamar. He lost his brother because he couldn’t survive the cold in the camp.

Adam works from early morning till late at night, collecting plastic bottles and selling them only to earn $0.50 for the day.

Meet this refugee family of 10 living out in the desert. Their bed is either holes dug in the ground or empty wooden boxes they managed to pick from trash in the outskirts. They cook on rocks with sand and dirt blowing all across. It’s safe to say that their living conditions are unbearable.

Adam and this refugee family are only two out of the millions of needy children and families in Yemen, who do not even have access to basic human necessities.

With Ramadan around the corner, they’re worried they will have nothing to break their fasts with. What can they possibly hope to buy to satisfy their hunger when all they earn in a day is what you would call ‘loose change’?

So, will you give them some hope this Ramadan?

Something more than just loose change?

THIS RAMADAN YOU CAN HELP END GLOBAL HUNGER THROUGH YOUR ZAKAT

But why now?

➡️ During Ramadan, Allah accounts for all our righteous deeds in an untold measure.

➡️ Allah has imbued this month with a night that is better than a thousand months.

➡️ A close companion of the Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘The Messenger of Allah, God bless him and grant him peace, was ever the most generous of people. Yet he was more generous than ever in Ramadan, for then he would meet Gabriel. Indeed, Gabriel, on him be peace, would meet him every night of Ramadan, and the Prophet would review with him the Quran. Then would the Messenger of God, on him be peace, become more generous in doing good than the gusting of a giving wind.’ (Bukhari, no. 3554)

There are currently 1.8 BILLION Muslims in the world.

If all of us paid 2.5% of our wealth in Zakat during this blessed month, we would be able to collect trillions—enough to push Yemen and the rest of the world toward Zero Hunger.

Interesting, isn’t it? How Islam provided solutions to problems much before we encountered them…

Now, all we need to do is harness the power of Zakat to transform lives.

But, there’s more. You can also…

EARN FREEDOM FROM HELLFIRE WITHOUT PUTTING IN MUCH EFFORT THIS RAMADAN

Despite trying our best not to, we all give in to the whisperings of Shaytan from time to time. Of course, this should be followed by sincere repentance to Allah with a firm belief in His mercy and forgiveness.

But our beloved Prophet (PBUH) has shared with us another surefire way to get our minor sins forgiven and to obtain freedom from the fire of Jahannam.

The Messenger of Allah said,
“Whoever provides Iftār for a fasting person in it (Ramadān), then that shall be forgiveness for his (the feeder’s) [minor] sins and freedom from the fire. And for such a feeder shall be the same reward as the one who fasted (whom he fed) without that person’s reward being decreased in the least.” [Ibn Khazaimah]

HOW CAN MY DONATION HELP THE HUNGRY?

The Good Deed Charity team is already on the ground putting 100% of your donations to work. Feeding 1 person Iftar can cost as little as $2 per meal.

It costs $2 for each Vegetarian Iftar meal and $2.50 for each Chicken Iftar meal.

Compared to last year, these prices have DOUBLED, which means the costs have increased within Yemen, and there are even MORE people there that need our help now than they did earlier. Which means, YOUR help is crucial to their survival!

How It Works

$2 (£1.58) can provide 1 vegetarian meal
$2.50 (£1.98) can provide 1 chicken meal

We receive your donation

The entire donation amount gets sent to our Yemeni team on the ground

Your donations get put to work

We record and show you the impact of your donations

THERE’S NO TIME TO WASTE: CHILDREN ARE BEING ROBBED OF THEIR FUTURES

Did you know…?

Every 10 minutes, 1 child dies from preventable causes like hunger.

They are so hungry they’re eating their own hands.

Mothers are being forced to choose between either providing life-saving medicines for their sick children or feeding the rest.

More than 2.2 MILLION children under the age of 5 are suffering through acute malnutrition. Without our help, they will succumb to extreme hunger and lose their battle with life! Children who die in this way undergo immense suffering as their vital organ functions slow down gradually before they eventually stop.

They are reeling with grief, and this Ramadan is your window of opportunity to turn their lives around for the better.

Last year your donations meant that we were able to distribute 1,000,500 iftar meals across 35 areas of the country.

This year, we are aiming to distribute the same amount of iftar meals across 35 areas as well.

Over 3,080 generous supporters have already assisted us in saving countless children from the brink of starvation. They can already see the rewards of their noble deed come to life.

For as little as $2 (£1.58) per meal, you can help us reach our goal this Ramadan.

Will you be one of them and join our mission?

ABOUT GOOD DEED CHARITY

Good Deed Charity was founded by Dr Mohammed Alazani, father of 6, and a distinguished cardiology surgeon in Germany.

Dr. Mohamed is originally from Yemen, and he took it upon himself to help the people of his country. At first alone, then with a group of his medical colleagues. In 2019, he realized he could do much more with a registered charity and local office in Yemen and established Good Deed Charity.

Today, Good Deed Charity is one of only 2 charities in Europe that has a registered office in Yemen.

For this reason, we have a dedicated delivery team that knows how to navigate the country in order to facilitate local relief operations in Yemen on behalf of other big charities such as:

We are also registered as a nonprofit organization in the United Kingdom and Germany, exclusively focused on supporting the needy in Yemen.

Having a local office in Yemen allows us to provide our supporters with full transparency through videos and photos highlighting the direct impact of your donations on an on-going basis.

WHAT ELSE HAVE WE ACCOMPLISHED?

We have also had the privilege to open two bakeries that provide over 120,000 people with bread each month and are planning to increase the number of bakeries across Yemen.

With your support, Good Deed Charity was able to serve more than 206,000 Iftar meals during Ramadan, and now you can help us feed them all year round!

Through our FREE public bakeries in Yemen, EVERY Yemeni, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity/race, and religion can access fresh bread.

At our current capacity, we’re already able to provide 8,000 pieces of bread daily through our current locations.

WHY TRUST US INSTEAD OF THE OTHERS?

One Hundred Percent [100%]

That’s how much of your money will go directly to the people in need.

Since Good Deed Charity is directly on the ground . . .

We can afford to have ZERO Admin costs.
Which means when you donate with GDC, every penny of your donation goes towards feeding people and saving lives.

Not a penny wasted.

That’s the Good Deed Charity promise.

Our Partners

The problem in Yemen is devastating – and we know that the only way we’ll be able to efficiently and effectively deliver the help they need is through working with a series of partners. And not just any partners – but the best of the best. Our partners have been on the ground in Yemen for several years and understand the problem first-hand.

We have worked with Charity Right, Mercy Bakery, Pious Projects, Crisis Aid, Heroic Hearts, Slough Islamic Trust, and Imdad Relief Foundation to provide life-saving aid to the people in Yemen.
