URGENT: Yemen’s Harsh Winter Makes the Worst Humanitarian Crisis Even Worse

The decade-long conflict in Yemen has pushed more than 80% of Yemen’s population into extreme poverty, leaving them vulnerable to displacement, malnutrition, and frequent disease outbreaks.

Today, over 4.5 million Yemenis are displaced, living in tents that offer little protection from the harsh weather.

For 17 million people struggling with hunger and food insecurity, the idea of affording warm jackets and blankets is a distant dream.

Can you then imagine what that would mean for 21.6 million people who are already in dire need of humanitarian assistance?

As winter temperatures continue to plummet as low as 5°C (41°F) in some regions, and even colder at night, the people of Yemen are at risk of freezing to death.

Even those who survive the cold will remain highly vulnerable to cold-related illnesses like hypothermia and respiratory infections.

And that’s why,

Since the conflict started, Good Deed Charity has been working tirelessly to support the people of Yemen in their struggle for survival.

Thanks to your generous support, we’ve saved countless lives every day. Our four fully operational bakeries provide over 12,000 people with lifesaving, nutritious bread for free each day. Moreover, our monthly food baskets help sustain thousands with daily nutrition.

But as temperatures drop below freezing, the need for our assistance has grown dramatically.

Last year, you helped families endure the harsh winter by distributing 4,250 jackets, 790 blankets, and 700 mattresses to 2,300 families in the 12 most affected areas.

This year, the situation is even more dire, and our people need us more than ever!

That’s why we must double our efforts and our impact.
